At Lord of Life Church, we believe that serving others is one of the clearest ways to reflect the love of Jesus Christ. On Day of Caring 2025 in Livingston County, we had the opportunity to put our faith into action—our Lord of Life youth group team worked together to meet the practical needs of a local homeowner and share Christ’s compassion in tangible ways.

Guided by Colossians 3:23—"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men"—our team stepped up with willing hearts and helping hands. It was a full day of service, fellowship, and faith in action.
Here’s what our youth group accomplished as part of this special outreach:
Attached a deck board to restore the homeowner’s outdoor space
Trimmed overgrown bushes and trees, bringing new life to the yard
Moved two large couches from the basement to the curb, lightening the homeowner’s load
Repaired broken kitchen drawer tracks, restoring order and convenience
Built a new railing for the deck stairs, making the home safer and more accessible

Every task—big or small—was a chance to serve joyfully and give God the glory. We weren't just fixing things; we were showing up as the hands and feet of Jesus, meeting someone where they are and loving them through action.
But the LOL youth group was just one part of a much larger movement. Altogether, 866 volunteers across 79 worksites served for a combined 3,258 hours, blessing our community with over $113,000 worth of service—all in a single day!
We are humbled and grateful to be part of what God is doing in our local area through Livingston County United Way's Day of Caring program. As Christ-followers, we’re called to love our neighbors, serve selflessly, and bring light wherever we go. That’s what this day was all about.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us and served with us. We look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community in Jesus’ name.
"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." (Hebrews 13:16)
