As we begin the month of March, we are moving through the Lenten season, which is a forty-day period (not including Sundays) leading up to our celebration of Easter. It began on Ash Wednesday (February 18) and ends with the Triduum (or “Three Days”) of Maundy Thursday on April 2, Good Friday on April 3, and Holy Saturday before the celebration of Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 5.
“Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love” – Joel 2:13
Lent is the church season where we focus in on our relationship with God as we remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus. During Lent, we are invited to “return” to God and to engage in spiritual practices to help us grow deeper in our faith.

There are many traditions around practices in Lent, including:
Fasting or giving something up that gets in the way of our relationship with God.
Almsgiving and Acts of Service, which means taking some of what we have and sharing with those in need, modeling and engaging in the way of Jesus.
Spending more time in prayer, devotion, and Bible Study to draw closer to God.
Lord of Life has many ministries happening during Lent and Easter which we invite you to participate in as ways to practice and deepen your faith. See below and visit our events and worship pages for more information about worship, faith formation, and service opportunities to get involved in:

Lent Sunday worship / soup fellowship
Adult Bible Study
Youth & Young Bible Study
Palm Sunday worship/potluck
Holy week & Easter worship
Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Family Sponsorship
Personal devotional resources are also available at the church building just outside the sanctuary. More information and signups for various ministries are posted on the church bulletin board.
If you have any questions, or if there are additional ways we can support you spiritually during Lent, please do not hesitate to reach out. Many blessings to you in this Lenten season!
Peace,
Pastor Kristin
